South Florida Peacock Bass 7-24-08

Peacock bass fishing in Miami continues to amaze me how good it still is despite heavy thunderstorms lately. Ed Cohn and I were out Thursday July 22 for a half-day trip and he landed 12 peacock bass up to 4 1/4 lbs all on live shiners. The fish are still active and feeding well and we are seeing them everywhere. South Florida Peacock Bass 7-22-08

It's been a great month in South Florida so far for Peacock Bass in Miami. Today Luis Rojas and I fished in the canals Kendall and boated 22 peacocks up to 6 lbs. on shiners and lures. We also had a nice 5 lb. beautiful butterfly peacock. It's still decent fishing even though the weather is hot and humid with a lot of rain lately. South Florida Peacock Bass 7-1-08

The South Florida Peacock Bass fishing is still doing quite good considering heavy showers and thunderstorms lately which usually shuts down the fishing. The heavy pumping of water lowers p.h. levels and oxygen which hurts the fishing. But today was a different story all together. Dan Paszynski and I fished Miami today and boated 26 peacock bass up to 5 1/2 lbs. Dan also landed 2 more over 4 lbs. to complete a great of fishing in the Miami canal system.
